Industry Partnerships

As a leading management institution in Asia, IIMA has close connections with industry and policy makers in India and abroad. These connections arise out of consulting and customized training that faculty do with organizations; they flow from the placements with firms around the world, from the participation of alumni in institute activities, from the sponsorship of industry in research activities and Professorial Chairs in the institute and others and from the management development programs that the institute conducts. Some of these are listed below:

• IDEA has sponsored the Telecom Centre of Excellence at IIMA to explore business issues relating to the telecom industry.
• More than 1600 managers from over 100 firms (including leading firms such as ITC, TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, UB Group, Indian Railways, Jet Airways, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, HPCL, etc.) participate in the open enrollment management development programs 
• Organizations like ICICI, NCDEX, and Indian Railways have sponsored chaired professorships at the institute 
• More than 130 firms recruit annually from various long duration programs (PGP, PGPX, PGP-PMP). These include investment banks like Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, consulting firms like McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Booz, Allen and Hamilton, marketing firms like Hindustan Unilever, P&G, Marico, telecom firms like Bharti and Vodafone, manufacturing firms like Cummins, Arcelor Mittal, and so on (the complete list is on the placement page) 
• Incompany programs are being done / have been done for firms such as IOC, HPCL, Lupin, Pfizer, GE, Exide, Ambuja, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, TMTC, Bharti Airtel, LG Electronics, Federal Bank, IDBI Bank, Hindustan Unilever and many others. 
• Research Centres like the Centre for Management of Health Service, Centre for E-Governance, and the Centre for Retailing are funded by organizations such as WHO/World Bank, GoI and Infosys

Besides these the Institute has entered into a collaboration with Future Generation Foundation to strengthen management education in Egypt and to conduct management development programmes in Cairo for senior executives from Egypt and neighbouring countries. The Institute played a major role in the creation of an Association of Asia Pacific Business Schools.
