The Symposium

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and the Citi Foundation are proud to present the IIMA-CITI Financial Literacy Symposium in New Delhi on 29 June 2012.

Access to finance and financial education are the key elements to deepen financial engagement and inclusion in India. The recognition of this relationship by the government, non-profit and corporate stakeholders has resulted in innovative initiatives in financial education, emerging across the country.

The symposium will

  • Increase awareness of, and engagement in, national financial education efforts
  • Facilitate dialogue among practitioners, government, regulators, non-profit organizations on the role that financial education plays in the development of a responsible financial system
  • Move towards a coordinated, cohesive approach for the effective delivery of financial education

The day-long symposium will have experts deliberating on the financial literacy requirements and initiatives for consumers and investors, young adults and the financially excluded populace. More than 150 representatives of government agencies, regulators, non-profit organizations, financial institutions, multilateral institutions and private businesses are expected to participate in this milestone event.
