Guidelines for Authors


We are looking forward to contributions on the following issues for our second issue of 2012. The articles/papers/case studies should reach us by the last week of May 2012.

  1. Research findings from an assessment study undertaken  in a developing country,  focusing on the impact made on citizens.

  2. Empowerment of women through use of ICT.

  3. Role and impact of ICT in the education sector - How far are we from achieving the Millennium Development Goal of universal primary education?

  4. Experiences and examples of creating awareness about the role and importance of ICT in Disaster Management.

In addition, we also look forward to contributions in other areas as mentioned below:

  1. Your response to an article of the previous issue of the newsletter.

  2. Short articles describing IT applications in developing countries which have created a social and/or economic impact. Failure stories which highlight key implementation problems are also welcome.

  3. News about a country/region. The news could cover applications, education, experiments with new technology, initiatives in policy, etc. 

  4. Write-up about research projects focusing on social implications of computers in developing countries.

  5. News about forthcoming conferences or a summary of interesting conferences that have taken place in the past three to four months.

  6. Review of a book which could be of interest to our readers.

  7. Short proposals for collaborative work amongst members.

We encourage serious articles proposing new paradigms/ frameworks, but these should be written in a style that would appeal to the many different constituents of our readership (Academicians, IT practitioners, Public Administrators, Managers). Please provide only essential references. Interested readers may seek further references directly from the authors.

The above list is indicative. Please send us any material which you think will be of interest to our readers. We welcome pictures/images, tables, or other data pertaining to the article.
