Analysis to Assess Community participation in the Design and Implementation of e-Government Initiatives through Field Research

Prof. Rekha Jain has worked on this project, sponsored by Panos , London. The aim is to develop and test methodologies to assess community participation in the Design and Implementation of e-Government Initiatives.

Evaluation of Technical Proposals for the ENVISION Project

Prof. V Venkata Rao and T.P.Rama Rao worked as a member of the committee for evaluation of technical proposals for the ENVISION project of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, New Delhi during July-August, 2005.

Engendering ICTs Study

This study explores the extent to which women the world over, are beginning to participate in and benefit from the Information and Communication Technology revolution sweeping the world. Based on case studies, available statistics and other information, this study would derive recommendations for the World Bank and policy implications for the governments to ensure fuller participation of women through creation of better opportunities for them in the new ICT era. CEG-IIMA has provided research assistance in three chapters of the Engendering ICTs Study, which has been co-authored by IIMA faculty.

Policy Implications for State IT Infrastructure Study of State Wide Area Networks

Undertaken by CEG faculty Prof. Rekha Jain and Prof. G. Raghuram, this project examines the various statewide initiatives in IT Infrastructure along the dimensions including: application areas, scoping of IT infrastructure projects, involvement of private participation, tendering and bidding process, role of government agencies/departments as users and for interfacing with project developers and, the perspective of the private developer regarding such projects. The project draws policy level implications regarding structuring, bidding, and role of government agencies in the State Wide Area Network projects.

Portal for Cotton Cooperative Sector

Profs. Rekha Jain and Sanjay Verma have undertaken this project, funded by the Gujarat Cotton Marketing Federation, to build a Portal for the procurement of cotton in the co-operative sector. In the first phase, marketing yards and unions can share their daily prices with each other. The portal allows private agents and the co-operative markets to register themselves on the site, and avail information about prices of the different varieties of cotton that prevail in the market. They can also keep notices about availability or requirement of their stock for people who are interested in purchasing of selling of cotton.
